Cos-Con Masquerades
On both days we will be hosting open entry Masquerades, which you can sign up for on the day and are simply a chance to have some fun up on stage and bring your character to life!
Cos-Con 2016’s Masquerades are about having fun and enjoying the limelight on stage, and as such there will be no judging or prizes.
We will also have kids Masquerades on Saturday for the little ones to give it their all on stage and go home with some goodies.

Entry Eligibility:
To be eligible to enter the Cos-Con Masquerade each entry needs to meet the following criteria:
- Have a valid Cos-Con event ticket.
- Be an individual or a group of 5 people or less.
- Each participant must be aged 12 years old or older at the time of the event. (Younger children may enter if accompanied at all times by a parent, but there will also be a Kiddy Competition on the day for younger kids.)
- Chosen characters can be based on characters that have appeared at any time in any format, or Original Designs/Concepts.
- Be willing to get on stage and have ALL THE FUN
Registration:
There will only be a limited number of spaces available and it will be on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Entries will be taken on the day of the event, a signup sheet will be made available at the Cosplay Desk at 10:00am and will remain open until 30 minutes before the Masquerade start time, or whenever the spaces are filled.
You will only be permitted to sign-up for yourself or your group, signing up somebody else will not be permitted.
Check in:
All entrants must be available at least 30min before the start of the competition and sign-in at the Cosplay Guest Table.
Entrants will be given their appearance order and instructed where to line up.
Entrants not in place 30mins prior to the start of the Competition will forfeit their entry.
Masquerade Format:
Entrants will be introduced then walk on stage.
They will have up to one minute to strut their stuff, entertain the crowd, and have some fun.
Performances are permitted, but Cos-Con will be unable to provide any music, microphones or any technical assistance.
Our hosts may ask their favourite cosplayers to return to the stage to answer questions or give the crowd one final pose.

However, all Masquerade entrants are free to enter our Cosplay Competitions and Championship throughout the weekend.
On Saturday, the winner(s) of the Vendors Choice Cosplay Competition will be announced at the end of the Masquerade.
Dressing Room / Cloakroom:
Attendees will have access to a room to use for costume changes which Competition entrants will be given priority to, this will be monitored by a member of the Cos-Con team throughout the weekend. There will be a cloakroom on the ground floor which will also be fully attended.
